Purchased new by Carl Swanson from Lew Spencer Imports, Los Angeles, Ca.
on May 8, 1964. As raced by Swanson with Kas Kastner as his crewman at
Riverside, Santa Barbara, Pomona, Santa Monica, etc. in 1965 and 1966.
In 1966 Carl won the SCCA E Productionship with a victory at Riverside,
California. Rebodied in the early '80s as a Factory SuperSport by Lee
Spencer and sold to the Blackhawk Museum Collection, Danville,
California. Purchased in 1991 by Don Queen with complete vintage race
preparation by Pierre Brun of Fossil Motorsports, Chatsworth, Ca., one
of Lew Spencer's original race mechanics. First raced at Lagune Seca,
3/36/94, finishing first in the over 2 liter GT Class, raced
consistently in HMSA and CSRG, then sold to Jon Shirley, consistently
winning in venues like the Monterey Historics and the Wine Country
Classic. Purchased by Dennis Glavis for Ferrari of Los Gatos and sold
to Doug Sallen in 1998. Since then the car's last owner has been a
consistent winner at every major venue in the Western United States.
The engine has been rebuilt every year by Greg Solow's Engine Room and
currently dynos at 167 HP, decimating Ferraris and Corvettes, and always
putting on a show that has the crowd on it's feet. The bearings are
checked after every race, and the car fully serviced. |
Comments |
This is one of the most significant Morgans in North American history.
It's preparation and performance are the ultimate in a reliable,
consistent top finisher in any vintage race venue. It turns 1.54 at
Laguna Seca and 2.02 at Sears Point/Infineon raceway.
This is a blue chip investment car prepared to the highest standards.
